TIMBERWOLF ORIENTATION DAYS

All students are encouraged to attend orientation. This is an opportunity to complete a variety of important tasks, such as paying your fees, picking up class schedules, and taking school pictures. We anticipate that it will take approximately 30 minutes to complete all activities. Please use Sign Up Genius to schedule an appointment. (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090F4DADA92AA5FD0-49964742-back)

ONLINE FEE PAYMENT

Beginning August 5, parents and students will be able to pay all class fees online. Everyone will receive an email with a link to pay the fees that is only good for 48 hours. Please email Liana for a new link at lianam@provo.edu. There is no fee for online payments, and it will help you avoid line longs in person.

CLASS REQUESTS

Class requests in school choice are not guaranteed. They give us preferences so we can make decisions as we place students and build our master schedule, but some classes have a limited number of seats. Students may not end up in every class requested, including gifted placement requests.

*The state of Utah defines Gifted and Talented as “a student having an ability that is significantly above the typical ability of a student within the same age group.” Our gifted classes have limited availability, and placement is determined using the following: RISE tests, Acadience testing, CoGat scores, and teacher recommendation.

CLASS CHANGES

Class changes are limited to extenuating circumstances and will be held August 15th and 16th by appointment (scheduled online). Students who have an incomplete schedule may get their schedule fixed during school.

SCHOOL PICTURES AND ACTIVITY CARDS

School pictures will be taken by Jostens Photography during orientation. Jostens will send an email with information about how to purchase school photos.  Students should receive their school activity card approximately 2 weeks after school begins.

IMMUNIZATIONS

Immunization records or waivers can be turned in during orientation. Our nurse will reach out to families directly if these are not completed by the time school starts.

NEW TO PROVO SCHOOL DISTRICT STUDENT REGISTRATION

New student registration will be held July 31 to August 2 from 9:00am to 2:00pm. To schedule an appointment, go to https://bit.ly/NewStudentRegistration24_25. If you would like to begin the registration process prior to your appointment, you can view the checklist of steps that need to be completed at https://bit.ly/cmsregistration2024. Please know that the appointment you make for getting your student registered is different from the appointment you will need to make for student orientation. If you have any questions, please reach out to the school registrar via email at lisav@provo.edu.

ALL STUDENTS

A parent or guardian must log into PowerSchool and update the email address, physical address and phone numbers. This is required annually and is very important! This is how we communicate with parents and students throughout the year for general information, emergency situations, questions, and other needs. We also send weekly emails and a monthly newsletter.

Thank you for helping us run a smooth opening to the 2024-2025 school year!  I know this is a lot of information at once. Please feel free to call the Main Office at 801.370.4621 with any questions. Summer office hours are somewhat limited, but we will respond to voicemails and emails as quickly as possible.

Sincerely,

Brook Dalby
