Students will develop a unified understanding of numbers, recognizing fractions, decimals (repeating or terminating), and percents as different representations of rational numbers. Students will extend their under- standing of ratios and develop understanding of proportionality to solve multi-step problems. Students will extend their understanding of varia- bles to working with algebraic expressions including the distributive property and they will learn to solve one- and two-step equations. Students will extend their work with Geometric figures including area and circumference of circles. They will work with areas and volumes asso- ciated with some three-dimensional figures. Students will identify sta- tistical samples and populations and use sample results to represent and make predictions concerning populations.
